The past two weeks have been challenging due to the hectic nature of family and work responsibilities.
In Week 4, I aimed to run almost every day, doing at least 5km each time. I wrapped up the week with just 28km and squeezed in one strength workout. On a positive note, one of those runs was an interval session because I felt up for it :)
Last week (week 5) was super hectic with my eldest's birthday coming up and all the prep that went into it. It took a lot of my time. Luckily, I had Thursday and Friday off, so I managed to fit in some longer runs (10km each). I really need to get back into the groove of these longer runs, but I'll pick it up again when I'm back in Taipei next week! :)
Plus, we had our first snow of the season. It wasn't great since my shoes got soaked pretty fast, but the views were pretty awesome! :)
Wrapped up week 5 of my Backyard prep with a total of 38km!
It's worth noting that during my entire 3-week stay in Poland, I lost 3kg. I think this is due to the different diet, which included a high protein intake from dairy products (which are scarce in Taiwan), as well as busy days that kept me on my feet all day. We'll see how things go once I'm back in Taiwan. I'll try to focus on maintaining my weight (currently 77kg) and increasing my protein intake from various sources.
Finally, during my trip to Poland, I bought various fuel brands for long runs that are not easily available in Taiwan (like Precision Fuel or some bars from Decathlon). I will be testing these over the coming weeks and will share my experiences here as well.
